Greetings
to Wattle Grove Primary Families, particularly those with Children in Room 17.
Term
3 is under way and I must say, I feel privileged to be Mr. Petch’s new student. A 4th year Bachelor of Education
student from the University of Notre Dame, my name is Mr. Young (Nathan). I will be completing my final 10-week
practicum over coming weeks. Having already
spent a week with the children, I can say with certainty that Term 3 looks like
it will be productive, fun, inspirational and full of life-long learning for
all. Exciting! We will be sure to post some classroom experiences
here as the term progresses.
I
wish to extend a special thanks to all the students in Room 17. Truly, you children are a credit to your
families and your school. Not only are
you all very capable and willing, you are also courteous, kind kids with a zeal
for learning; attributes that will always serve you well.
See
you all in school, and thanks for having me.
Kind
regards,
Mr.
Young
STUDENT COUNCILLORS
Congratulations to Jai and Mitchell who were elected to be Room 17's Student Councillors for Semester Two. A very deserving accolade and I have no doubt that the two of you will take on the responsibilities and duties with the maturity that such a role requires. Well done!

MERIT AWARDS
Well done to the children who were awarded a Merit Certificate at today's assembly. Keep up the wonderful work.
LITERACY PRO AWARDS
Wow, Room 17 have really excelled at Literacy Pro this time round. Look at all of the Red Certificate recipients, and Bronze Certificate winners too. You can only achieve these awards with persistence and dedication, as well as a love of reading. Your hard work has also contributed to our class making the most progress from the last assembly. Keep up the great work.
PRINCIPAL'S CHALLENGE
I'm super proud of everyone who worked hard to earn some recognition at today's assembly for the Principal's Challenge awards. Well done to you all.
NATURE PLAYGROUND
Today we went over to check out the Nature Playground. The kids had a heap of fun and one child summed it up by saying that it was "The best playground ever!"
